ARTIST BIO
A Visual Journey
I am a mixed media and watercolor artist from a small town (Roan Mountain) in East Tennessee. I focus primarily on figurative, with a focus on portraits. Watercolors and Graphite are my primary medium, but will supplement with gouache, colored pencils, or ink. My major at ETSU (East Tennessee State University) was Illustration, but I have moved into the realm of fine art painting. After college I joined the United States Air Force as a SERE (Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape) Specialist in 2004, and I am still currently on Active Duty Status (17 yrs of Service). While in the service I have lived in many places to include Italy which have broadened my artistic taste. I have 4 boys, ages 4, 6, 12, 14 and a lovely wife Shawna. That being said, it is necessary to maximize my time between my military job, spending time with my boys, and artwork. I currently live in Southaven, Mississippi and spend most evenings working on commissioned or personal art pieces. 10% of all sales, either commissioned pieces or prints, goes to the “Isaac Foundation” (the name is just a coincidence). The mission statement of the foundation is “Enhancing the lives of your friends and family touched by autism through educational, emotional and financial support programs.” It is an excellent cause which is close to our hearts (our 6 yr old Elijah is on the spectrum) and we are proud to be a part of such a great local program.
